Role: Client Representative, Design Manager and Project Manager.
Responsible for design, documentation and delivery of the Grease Trap Upgrade complex wide.
The project involved;
Prepare business case justification for works in order to apply for capital works expenditure to complete the project;
Identifying and auditing the existing installation which contained some 30 grease traps, many did not comply with current authority regulation for capacity and size;
Co-ordinating with site wide capital works program which included new restaurants and bars;
Redesigning systems and pipework to consolidate traps and pumps where appropriate;
Create new identifiable numbering systems;
Designing and building new plant rooms enclosing traps, included bunded rooms, exhaust systems, interface with BAS for alarming, railing systems to allow for the removal
of submersible duty stand by pumps and OH&S compliance;
Set standards for all new installations and allow for future growth of the complex;
Liaise and meet regularly with the authority to update progress, gain approvals for non-standard trap sizes and co-ordinate outlet testing;
Final connected load in excess of 350,000 Litres.
Staged project over 2 years;
Live cutovers from old redundant systems to new;
Liaising and gaining approvals from the local water authority for non-standard capacities.
