Summary
As part of the complex wide upgrade a review and update was carried out of the integrated air conditioning systems that serve the gaming floors that have approval to allow cigarette and cigar smoking ;
- Briefing, engaging and managing consultants to meet project expectations;
- Benchmarking new systems against both local and International facilities of a similar standard;
- Independent reviews and verification;
- Prototyping and testing of systems prior to the installation to ensure that they met expectations and anticipated performance;
- Preparation and initiation of standardised commissioning testing regimes;
- Standardising of regular air quality and equipment testing;
- Preparation of equipment specific maintenance regimes to ensure that the plant and equipment linked to smoking gaming rooms are well maintained and regularly
inspected for performance; - Liaise with internal health and safety representatives including presentations and workshops to wider staff;
- Ensuring integration of systems with gaming tables, slot machines and architectural design;
- Presentations to executive board level for sign-off and endorsement.
Challenges
- Highly sensitive project within the organisation;
- Ensuring continuity of operation of gaming floors during the works and post completion;
- Spatial requirements for upgraded equipment;
- Major infrastructure upgrades required to meet increased thermal and electrical loads.
