SUMMARY
Responsible for design, documentation and delivery of new Crown data centre. The project involves the construction of the new Crown data centre which will assist with the consolidation of Crowns IT services between its two primary Australian sites plus Crown Sydney. The existing data centre was undersized and allowed for no future growth for future projects.

WORKS INCLUDED

Prepare business case justification for works in order to apply for capital works expenditure to complete the project

Electrical supply of N+1 which included two separate feeds from two separate transformers, duel UPS

New Chilled Water circuits from the Level 4 plantroom and Level 2 plantroom c/w duty standby pumps, In row cooling units

Significant modifications to structure to support the weight of the white and grey space equipment

Design allowed for the future doubling of  the Data Centre, provision for additional 14 racks inc. infrastructure and structure

3 stage relocation, decanting and tenancy works to free up space for the new data centre on site.

CHALLENGES

Pre-works taken place 6 months prior to awarding the project

Including main switchboard extension and installation of new circuit breakers for submains during major yearly plant shutdown

High risk, high profile project within the organisation

Cut-overs and works taking place in 24 / 7 facility

Fail over and load bank testing
