SUMMARY
Responsible for feasibility, design, documentation and delivery of the upgrade of the existing air cooled Chiller Plant for Crown’s Clarke Street Building. The plant had been operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week since the complex opened and was at the end of its economically usable life.
WORKS INCLUDED
Conduct feasibility of existing plant, assess options, prepare budget and recommend replacement works
Replace 2 x 1500Kw and 1 x 750Kw air cooled chillers that were past their economically usable life
Modification of the existing primary pumping system to a more efficient and reliable primary / secondary system
New controls system (BACnet – Comfortpoint)
Pump Room Built off site and lifted into position in-situ, pre-tested and commissioned
Modification to existing structural support systems.
CHALLENGES
Lifting of plant and equipment over Whiteman Street, Southbank
Cut-overs and works taking place in 24 / 7 operational facility
Handling of Plant and equipment with significant weight
Modifications to primary pumping system
